It's super consistent, always delicious, fast & fairly priced with seemingly high quality, fresh ingredients & super efficient service. They've even got a few tables outside if you want to bring your furry friend with ya to lunch. Highly recommend giving this unassuming spot a try if you've never been here before. Revitalizing, nourishing, and delectable, poke brilliantly combines the finest elements of sushi in a convenient, easy-to-enjoy package.
Poke House Austin
We always take our food togo so I've never actually dinned in. We are Austin's premier private poker club offering a fun, safe, and secure environment. Our full service bar/restauraunt features Bernie's Sould Food, Pizza, Wings, Burgers, Asian Cuisine and so much more.... The OG with chili oil, avocado, chili flake, ginger and a dash of mirin. Poke House is one of the best bangs for your buck in Austin.
Poke Bowl Recipes
The still-popular Hawaiian fish dish poke is still going strong in Austin. Traditionally, poke features raw ahi tuna, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and onions as the usual suspects. Then there are the fusion formats, from burritos to nachos to poke atop fried tofu skins.

New to poke and unsure where to start? However, the payoff can be big for those willing to take a risk and build their own bowls at many fast-casual spots like Poke House, Pokeatery, and Poke Austin. There are also higher-end options at Mongers, and guacamole ones at Kemuri.
Restaurant
Poke House, a family-owned restaurant based in Austin, proudly serves up fresh, speedy, and mouthwatering poke since 2017. Our mission at Poke House is straightforward – offering fantastic, freshly prepared poke bowls at affordable prices. Sunset Valley’s casual poke spot is prepared with signature bowls with plenty of fish, snow crab scallops, and more. There’s a second location on East Fifth; takeout orders can be placed online. There are tofu- and veggie-based options as well.
Ahi Poke
Then there are, yes, hot Cheetos-dusted burritos at Poke House. The raw bar at both locations of the New American restaurant (the other up in North Shoal Creek) serves up a tuna poke made with taro chips. Kemuri's Texas-Japanese take on poke is the guacapoke, where the tuna is paired with avocado, wasabi, and pickled red onions.
Eater Austin main menu
Another casual poke spot, this time in the St. Johns neighborhood. Epic’s offerings include customizable or signature bowls with bases (including sweet potato noodles); proteins like ahi tuna, spicy salmon, or shrimp; and all sorts of vegetables. The Rosedale location of the seafood restaurant offers up an array of poke bowls, including the maguro with bluefin tuna, California with snow crab, and the Scottish with salmon. Massaged kale tossed in house made shoyu vinaigrette with onion, mac nuts, avocado, carrots, sesame seeds.
It includes pickled fresno peppers, yuzu citrus, rice noodles and a side of shrimp chips. I've eaten Poke all over town and find this place to have my favorite selections and at the best price. Although often inconsistent in how pokeritos and bowls are often made, serious mistakes are rare. Even when lines are long, I can usually get in and out pretty fast. The workers share their playlists over the speakers and always make for a great environment.
For more fish, check out Austin’s best seafood restaurants, spots with oysters, and sushi places. I absolutely love the staff and their recommendations. The food is always amazing and fresh. Personally I have a hard time trusting poke restaurants but you can GUARANTEE freshness here. The staff are diligent with changing the protein section!
There are two other locations too, one on Brodie Lane and the other in Hancock. Among the Austin-area mini-chain’s poke offerings (rice bowls and salads) is the poke burrito which can be made covered in Cheetos dust. You’ll find the yellowfin tuna poke bowl on the brunch, lunch, and dinner menus at South Congress Hotel’s Californian cafe.
